The second step to managing eBay through SureDone is to set up the rules by which SureDone will manage your eBay listings. These settings allow you to select default settings to apply to your listings. With default settings in place, you can list more efficiently to eBay by only populating the required fields that change from listing to listing and letting SureDone default the remaining information.

All of these defaults can be overridden if you provide a different value on the listing, giving you maximum listing flexibility. To reach your eBay channel settings, use the same procedure you followed to authorize your channel:

  1. Login to your SureDone account.
  2. Hover on the Settings Gear towards the upper right hand corner
  3. Click on Channels to take you to the Channels Settings Screen.
  4. Click on "eBay Main" to expand the settings menu.

You can manage the following settings for your eBay channel in SureDone:

  • Status: You need to switch this on in order to sync with eBay
    • Set it once and forget it.
    • Turning it off will disrupt the connection between SureDone and eBay, potentially leading to system data corruption.
  • Token: Your token was activated when you authorized your eBay channel settings.
    • Your token expires once a year.
    • Should you need to re-authorize your account, you will receive an email from SureDone.
    • You can then repeat the directions in Section 2.1 Authorizing Your eBay Channel.

  • OAuth: You do not need to click on that Setting unless advised by our support team or your onboarding specialist

  • Import: Please Do Not Alter or use these settings unless specifically trained by SureDone on how to use them.
    • These settings will pull data in from eBay.
    • They are predominately used by SureDone during the onboarding process.
    • Altering them accidentally can cause duplication of product listings in SureDone and on eBay and other issues.
  • Store Categories: There are two settings here that let you control eBay Category assignments for items.
    • Import Store Categories:  Brings the customer's eBay store category name and store category ID into SureDone so you can select it from the drop down (Note: to import them, you need to check all three boxes - the "Import" checkbox from "Import Store Categories" as well as the "Convert" & "File Only" checkbox from "Convert Store Categories")
    • Convert Store Categories: Takes those eBay Store Categories and converts them into SureDone storefront Categories.

  • Default Product SkipYou have the option to set "Skips" at the channel level. Generally, you can set it to "Always Send" and that typically means that you would want to list/sync items on this eBay instance rather than having to skip listing/syncing.

  • SiteID: Select the main eBay site on which you list your items.
    • Popular choices include US, eBayMotors, and Canada.
    • You can list on several eBay sites by overriding this selection at the item level.
  • Country; "Same as Business Country" implies the country you selected when you filled out the profile information on signing up for your SureDone account. This is generally the country where your business is based.

  • Currency: Choose the currency you prefer to sell in.
  • Listing Duration: Select whether most of your listings are Good Till Cancelled or 7-Day, 10-Day listings, etc. These defaults can be overridden if you provide a different value on the individual product listing, giving you maximum listing flexibility.
  • Listing Type: Select whether most of your listings are Fixed Price or Auction items. The default can be overridden if you provide a different value on the individual product listing, giving you maximum listing flexibility.

  • PayPal AddressProvide the email address for the PayPal account you use to collect payment with the SureDone synced eBay account.

  • Require Immediate Pay: Turn the switch on, if you require your buyers to pay immediately upon purchase.
  • Business Policy Profiles: You set these up in eBay can be pulled into SureDone to quickly assign rules for handling your listing’s policies.
    • These profiles are created in eBay
    • If you use these profiles, you must use ALL THREE PROFILES. eBay will not let you only define one - your items will not list in this case.
    • SureDone gives you access to Payment, Returns, and Shipping Profiles.
    • When you create new or edit existing profiles in eBay, you must click Refresh Profiles here to pull the changes into SureDone.

  • Best Offer: Turn this on if you are willing to accept best offers for your listings.
  • Strikethrough MSRP: If you are authorized by eBay to list an MSRP and a marked down price, turn on the strikethrough feature.
  • MAP Price Exposure: This feature is available for Sellers who are eligible for the Discount Pricing Program, this helps in hiding the price on eBay.
  • MAP Price Field Override: If this field is mapped to a custom field, then it will take precedence over the item level MAP value
  • Use Relist ID:
    • If ON: a new ebayid will be generated if the listing is ever ended/relisted, but the original ebayid will be stored in our back end settings to retain sales search rankings and other features. However, in the UI and Export, the new ebayid will be shown.
    • If OFF: a new ebayid will be generated if the listing is ever ended/relist but the original ebayid will not be retained
  • Auctions Relist: When enabled, auctions will be auto-relisted at the set duration of the auction - 7 days, 10 days, 15 days, etc.
  • Max Stock Field:Select the field to be used to hold your Max Stock Quantity.
    • This advanced feature is explained in a separate article.
    • This can be mapped to the same field used for Amazon.
    • An example about how this works is shown in an eBay example explained here

  • Min Stock Field: Select the field to be used to hold your Min Stock Quantity.
    • This advanced feature is explained in a separate article.
    • This can be mapped to the same field used for eBay.

    • Shipping Package: Describe the typical packaging you use for shipping.

    • Global Shipping:  Activate only if you allow this shipping method.
    • Freight Shipping: Activate only if you allow for this shipping method.

  • Item Specifics Mapping: This shows you the various fields that are mapped to show up in the Item Specifics section on eBay

  • Item Specifics Mapping Add: This allows you to add more fields from SureDone to show up in the Item Specifics section on eBay. In order to do this, just click on a field (once selected, it will highlight in Blue) then click "Save Settings" on bottom right of the page.

  • Item Specifics Inline Fields: Here you can view which of your custom fields are sent to eBay as Item Specifics

  • Item Specifics Inline Add: You can create custom item specifics here by typing in the name of the custom field. It then gets added to the "Item Specifics Inline Fields" section. To select multiple items, hold down the shift key, while clicking on the desired fields with your mouse.

  • Item Specifics Inline Remove: To remove, simply click on the fields in this list (once selected, it will highlight in Blue) then click "Save Settings" on bottom right of the page. • Fitment Compatibility:  Turn on if you want to use SureDone to submit and manage the Fitment information on your listings.
  • Fitment Refresh: Turn on if you want the Fitment Information to refresh.
    • If Refresh is ON, then SureDone will replace fitment information on every update (i.e. we will delete what is on eBay & replace it with what is in SureDone).
    • If Refresh is OFF, SureDone will never remove fitment from eBay and only add new fitments in SureDone, but not yet on eBay.

  • Templates and Description

    • View Ebay Templates: These hyperlinks with the .htm extension show you the various templates that are installed in your account.

    • Description Templates: Use this drop down menu to select a default template from the templates you already uploaded into SureDone. The default template can be overridden at the item level.

    • Description Field Override: If the setting is ON then “eBay Custom Description” will override the Long Description ONLY (that is, it will insert itself inside an eBay Template instead of the Long Description. If the setting is OFF (default) then “eBay Custom Description” will be treated the full eBay Description (overwriting any and all templates selected).

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

The below settings are not user configurable but can be changed by opening a ticket with our support team. Please mention the setting name and required changes

  • ReturnsYou only need to set this if you do not use the defined business policy profiles below. There are several details to provide to describe your return policy.

    • Do you accept returns?
    • How long after the purchase do you accept these returns?
    • Do you send Money Back, offer an exchange, or provide a replacement?
    • Who pays for the return shipping?

  • Restocking Fee:  What percentage of the sale price to you charge for each return?
    • Options include: None 10%, 15%, and 20%.

Note: The Restocking Fee was deprecated by eBay with the Simplified Returns policy, which was part of                         eBay's 2018 Spring Seller Update.

  • Return Policy Details:  Provide any textual explanation of your Return Policy in the input box.

  • Out of Stock Control: Turn the switch on if you want to have all new listings have Out of Stock Control on. When an item is out of stock instead of having the listing end, it will remain active and searchable for buyers with no ability to purchase until the item is back in stock.

  • Use Variation Images in Default:
    • When this switch is on, all of the images in the parent are sent to eBay as “Default images” (these are the images displayed first and not linked to a specific variation attributes).
    • When this switch is off, it only uses the images which are present in the parent AND all the children as the “default images” – any images unique to the parent will be sent as images for the specific attribute of the parent (e.g. red)
    • This will cause images to behave as described here: How do eBay Variation Images work in SureDone
    • Important: if this setting is off and the item does not have at least one image present in the parent and every child, then it will break because “Default Images” are required.

  • Use eBay Prefilled Item Info: When this feature is enabled, SureDone will submit the product’s UPC to eBay’s Product Details Catalog to automatically try to load Item Specifics & product details.

  • Listings Relist: Turn this on to automatically relist items on eBay if they end without selling.

  • Payment Gateway:  Turn this off if you take credit card payments directly from buyers.
  • Payment Instructions: Supply your buyer further instructions on how to pay by entering the information into the text box.

  • Price Difference Rate: You can inflate or deflate all your prices on eBay by setting a default Price Difference Rate.
    • For example, enter 0.06 to list all items on eBay at a price 6% higher than the price stored in SureDone’s price field
    • Using the ebayprice will override this.
    • This is useful for being able to list items on your own website for cheaper than you sell them off on eBay.
  • Tax Category: Fill in the Tax Category from your eBay account, if applicable.

  • Charity ID: Provide ID number for the charity to which the donations go.

  • Donation (%):
    • The % of revenue (sale price) that will be donated to the selected charity.
    • This program is open to any sellers looking to donate a portion of their profits to charity
    • Enter the suggested % as an integer.
  • Orders Paid Sync:  By default, this feature should be turned on. If you shut it off, all orders, including unpaid orders will be imported.
    • Do not change unless directed by SureDone Support
    • Stock is synced when orders sync. So this also determines if we sync stock before or after the item is paid for.
    • If an unpaid order is canceled before payment, we do not currently put stock back into the inventory.
    • SureDone does not receive notification of when an order gets completed on eBay. When Orders Paid Sync is turned *off*, if a customer never pays for their order, then quantity will need to be manually adjusted on the listing.

  • Import SKUs Strict:  Import all your SKUs from eBay
    • Turn this off only if instructed by SureDone Support
    • All SKUs must be unique to turn it off.

  • Fitment EPID Field:  Select the field you use for Fitment EPID
    • Fitment EPIDs refer to specific Y/M/M of vehicles the part fits.

  • Catalog EPID Field:  Select the field you use for Fitment EPID
    • Catalog EPIDs refer to parts with multiple Fitment EPIDs associated.

  • Fitment Notes Field: Select where you keep any notes you have on how you determine fitment.

  • UPC Map Field:  Select the Field your UPC Maps to.
    • This tells SureDone what type of identifier is being submitted in the UPC field.
    • e.g. if it’s an EAN, ISBN, etc. If no value or no mapping, it always sends “UPC”

  • Condition Notes: Select the field in which you store Condition Notes, if you use them.
    • We recommend that it’s mapped to “Notes” as placed in the UI.

  • Description Gallery:  View thumbnail galleries and large photos.
  • Custom Descriptions, you may use text, HTML, or CSS on the following fields:
    • Description CSS
    • Description Header:
    • Description Navbar
    • Description Footer
    • Description About
    • Description Return Policy
    • Payments Policy
    • Domestic Shipping Policy
    • International Shipping Policy
