Creating Pages

What are Pages?

There are two uses for Pages in SureDone.
Pages are solely for your eCommerce Storefront.

  • Use Pages to create an About Us, Contact Us, etc type of page.
  • If you have a Blog and you want to create a blog post.

Let's get started with setting up a page.

1. Click on Settings>Storefront and go to Storefront > Pages (From the top menu - not the settings menu)

  • If you do not have a Storefront tab, that means that you do not have your storefront active yet.
  • Pages are irrelevant until you activate your storefront.
  • 4.1 Activating your StoreFront

2. Your Title is the main focus of your Page. It displays at the top of your Website.

3. The URI is what is used in the actual url.

4. The Name is where you will indicate if this is a Page, Blog post, or other type of page.

  A. Enter index into the URI field

  B. Click Edit to the right of the pages selection

  C. Type the name you want in replace of pages. (ie Your Page)

  • If you want to introduce an advanced page structure, for purposes such as one page javascript apps where you need the url suffix to be dynamic (ie www.yourstore.com/my-app/page-name/custom-uri-1/) You can create the "Name" with a "+" suffix, for example "my-app+".

5. Media is only well placed on your page if your template is built to use uploaded images properly.

  • If it is not, then when you upload images it will just be at the top of your page.
  • Without the proper guidelines built into your template in page.htm, your images will have no guidelines (they will not be sized correctly, placed correctly, etc.)

6. Tags are best used with Blog posts and not so much for Pages.

  • An instance where you would use tags would be if you were blogging about eBay and Amazon.
  • You would enter ebay, amazon as tags.
  • You could create a link that searches all tags for eBay specifically and it would find this blog post as a result.

7. Store HTML Title and Store Meta Description are specific for the way this Page will show up in the Search Engine results.

  • If you do not enter a HTML Title, it will automatically use the Title entered above.
  • If you do not enter a Meta Description, it will not use anything by default. However, meta descriptions are often used by Google in their results to describe what the page is about.

8. Page Body is where you can enter any HTML you would like.

  • If you do not know HTML, you can toggle the switch on the right to use the Editor.
  • With this editor, you can easily customize your text.

9. Other non-pictured fields are Additional Content, Template and Custom Fields

  • The Additional Content is only used if your template is built for more information.
  • You could potentially use this field for specifications and such.
  • The Template selection would be if you had multiple page.htm templates created, or possibly a separate blog.htm setup with your template.
  • You could select that here.
  • Last is Custom Fields. If you have any storefront specific custom fields, you can enter these just the same as you would if you were entering a product.
