Storefronts, Mailing Lists and MailChimp

While SureDone has configuration options for mailing lists, these are reserved for future use and are not currently active.

In order to create an e-mail mailing list for your site, we recommend using Mailchimp. This service (free for up to 2,000 subscribers per month and 12,000 e-mails per month) will allow you to create beautiful e-mail newsletters and other notices to anyone who subscribes.

If you are having SureDone create a website for you, you will need to provide us with some HTML code to include on your site. If you are working on your site on your own, Mailchimp provides several different pre-made forms and pop-overs to use.

Here's what you need to do to set up your Mailchimp account, and what you need to provide to SureDone:

  1. Go to http://www.mailchimp.com.
  2. Fill in the information they have requested.

  3. Follow the directions to activate your account.

  4. Continue to follow their signup process, entering in your organizational information and other data they have requested.

  5. After you are finished signing up, the first thing you'll want to do is "Create A List". Click on "Lists" at the top of the page.

  6. Next, create a list by click on "Create List".

  7. Follow the directions to enter the pertinent information for your website list.

  8. After you've created your list, you'll need to get the code for a signup form for your website, so click on "Signup Forms". This will actually bring you to verify your campaign defaults first, and then we'll get the chance to view our signup forms.

  9. You have to verify the "From" address for your list. Scroll down a bit to find the "Default from email" section, and click on "verify domain" underneath it. Click on "Verify domain".

  10. Follow the directions to verify your domain.

  11. Follow the directions for the remainder of the settings, and then save them.

  12. Click on "Signup Forms" again so we can go get your signup form.

  13. For integration onto the SureDone website, we're going to use an "Embedded Form", so click on "Select" next to "Embedded Forms".

  14. Unless you are having us create a custom subscription area on your website, we only care about asking the user for their e-mail address. Turn off the form title, select "Show only required fields", and deselect interest groups, required field indicators, format options, and select to disable javascript below.

  15. On the right hand side of the screen will be a text box containing your code. Copy and paste this into a notepad or text editor, and then upload it to your website board set up by your website specialist (or send it to them via e-mail).

  16. That's it for the setup. We would recommend reviewing some of MailChimp's guides and documentation to learn about how to set up newsletter campaigns and use their other features.
