Taska billing and credits

Taska runs on credits. Each reply in chat and each plan Taska runs uses credits from one balance that everyone on your account shares. Approving a plan is free: credits are only used when a plan runs.

Open billing from Taska AI, then Billing. It's also the AI tab under Settings, then Billing. You need the Manage AI billing permission to choose a plan, start a trial or buy credits. Owners and Admins have it by default. Everyone who uses Taska sees the credit balance at the top of every Taska page.

Your three kinds of credits

Taska uses your credits in this order:

  1. Free monthly credits. Every account gets free credits each month. They renew on the 1st of each month (UTC), and unused free credits don't carry over.
  2. Plan allowance. The monthly credits from your AI plan. They renew on your billing date, and unused credits don't carry over.
  3. Top-up and bonus credits. Credits you've bought, plus any bonus credits added to your account. They never expire.

Hover over the credit total at the top of any Taska page to see how much of each you have left. The Billing page shows the same three balances.

AI plans

The Billing page lists the AI plans available to your account and what each one includes. To choose a plan, open Taska AI, then Billing, pick a plan under Add an AI plan, and confirm. If you have a card saved, you confirm with it. Otherwise you enter a card at checkout.

The Taska AI free trial

If your account has never had a paid AI plan, you may be able to try one free with a Taska AI free trial. When your account can start one, the offer appears on the Billing page, on Taska Home and in the first-run tour, with the date the offer ends. The Billing page shows the trial's length, credits and terms before you start.

During a trial, Billing and Taska Home show how many days are left, with three buttons. Start plan now starts the paid plan right away. Change plan changes which plan starts when the trial ends. Cancel trial ends the trial without a charge. When the trial ends, the plan you chose starts and your card is charged, unless you cancelled. Top-ups aren't available during a trial.

Each account can have one Taska AI trial. If you don't manage AI billing, the offer asks you to contact an account admin to start it.

Topping up

On a paid AI plan, you can buy extra credits at any time. Open Billing, choose an amount under Top up credits, and confirm. The Billing page shows the amounts you can buy.

Top-up credits arrive within a moment, never expire, and are used after your plan allowance.

Free credits that need a connected channel

On some free SureDone accounts, the free monthly credits are only given while a sales channel is connected and authorized. If your credit balance says "No credits · Connect a channel", connect a sales channel, and the credits arrive the next time you open your SureDone home page. If you disconnect the channel later in the month, you keep that month's credits.

Each marketplace account can unlock free credits for only one SureDone account.

Changing or cancelling your plan

  • Upgrading takes effect right away. You're charged the prorated difference now, and your allowance goes up to the new plan's credits.
  • Downgrading takes effect on your next billing date. You keep your current allowance until then.
  • Cancelling: click Cancel AI plan on the Billing page and confirm. Taska stays available until the end of your billing period. After that, your plan allowance stops and your account moves to AI Free. Your top-up and bonus credits stay, and your free monthly credits keep renewing. To change your mind before then, click Keep my plan.
  • If a payment fails, a message on Billing asks you to update your card on the Payment tab. Taska keeps running for now, but update the card so your plan doesn't lapse.

Running low or running out

  • Running low: when you have less than 30% of this month's free and plan credits left (or of your trial credits during a trial), a warning appears on the credit total, Taska Home, Chat and Billing. You can close it.
  • Out of credits: chat and listing plans pause until credits are added. You can't start a plan, and a plan that's already running stops using AI for the products it hasn't reached. Topping up doesn't restart that plan, so create a new plan for the products it didn't finish.

The warnings offer the next step for your account: Top up or Change plan on a paid plan, See AI plans on AI Free, and Start plan now during a trial. If you don't manage AI billing, they ask you to contact an account admin instead.

Billing emails

People with the Manage AI billing permission get emails when:

  • Credits are running low, once per billing period or trial. AI Free accounts don't get this email.
  • Credits have run out, once per billing period, or once a month on AI Free.
  • A Taska AI trial starts, when the paid plan starts after a trial, and when a trial ends.

The low and out emails also need the "View Approaching Limits Notification" and "View Limits Reached Notification" settings turned on for that person.

Credits returned for failed work

If tasks in a plan run don't complete because of a problem inside SureDone, the credits for that work are returned to your balance. They show in Recent usage as "Credits returned".

Recent usage

The Recent usage table on the Billing page lists each time credits were used or returned, with the date, the action (a chat or the plan's name), a detail and the number of credits. Choose This cycle, Last cycle or All time to change the period. This cycle and Last cycle are calendar months.

Click Export CSV to download the whole period you've chosen, up to about 5,000 rows. The file also shows which balance each charge came from and the balances after it.
